The celebration of the First Smokefree Doncaster Excellence Award Presentation The Smokefree Doncaster Excellence Award was developed in recognition of, and to build upon, the excellent achievements of the ‘Roy Castle Good Air Awards’ that have been running for many years in Doncaster and have helped to provided Smokefree environments for thousands of people in our borough.

The successful businesses lead the way by not only introducing a Smokefree work environment for their entire staff but in addition to the requirements of the Smokefree legislation they are seen to be going the extra mile by adopting new policies to ensure staffs are kept informed and supported as they try to give up smoking They have also introduced a Smokefree exclusion zones, ensuring that they protect staff within a designated periphery of the building and entrances.
In response Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council in partnership with local Primary Care Trust have recognised such action and presented all the businesses that have applied and have passed the inspection.
The Awards were presented by Dr Tony Baxter and Fiona Castle OBE at the ceremony at the Keepmoat Stadium on 31st March
